11th March 2016 - Tag League Association announces relaunch of Engadine Competition as Sutherland Tag League

The Tag League Association today announced the relaunch of the Engadine competition as Sutherland Tag League. In a statement made today, the Tag League Association acknowledged the false start of the Engadine competition in 2014. Originally the Engadine Competition was to be managed by an independent person from the local area. That person was to be responsible for ground hire and the general oversight of the competition. Unfortunately they ran into problems with council regarding field hire at Heathcote Oval, and the competition failed to proceed. Under new arrangements, the Tag League Association will assume full control of the new Sutherland Competition, with the first Senior Mixed & Mens competitions being offered for Winter 2016 commencing in early May at Boystown Oval Engadine. This is the start of a series of competitions we plan in the Sutherland Shire area over the next few years, Amanda Vecchio, Secretary of the Tag League Association said. The Tag League Association already has a working partnership in the area, with the Bosco Tag League junior competition. To begin with, we will make use of the same fields at Engadine for the new Sutherland competition for Winter 2016, then build on that making use of other council and private fields in subsequent seasons. The Boystown Oval has has 3 large flood lit fields, so plenty of space for both Juniors and Seniors. New season competitions start in May with registrations now being accepted. The new competition has a new web site & Facebook Group at: http://www.SutherlandTagLeague.com.au  &  https://www.facebook.com/groups/SutherlandTagLeague/

21st August 2014 - Tag League Association announces new Engadine Competition

The Tag League Association today announced the establishment of a new competition at Engadine, to the south of Sydney. This competition further extends geographical access for players, Helmut Fleig, President of the Tag League Association said. One of the key issues we face is the availability of competitions that are convenient for players to access. We often get calls about where people can play, and its disappointing when we have to say we have nothing available in their area. Engadine is the first of a series of new competitions being launched for Spring 2014. Further announcements will be made in the next few weeks as we finalise arrangements with councils regarding grounds access as well as with new competition managers. We are excited with the new developments, with more to follow. The new Engadine Tag League Competition site can be found at: www.EngadineTagLeague.com.au

19th June 2014 - Tag League Association changes to new Logo

The Tag League Association today launched its new logo design. The new design was prompted by feedback from the NRL that it held concerns that the original Tag League logo launched in April 2013 was uncomfortably similar to its own. Whilst the Tag league Association did not share that belief, we felt it prudent to make a change to avoid any issues, Helmut Fleig, Tag League Association President said. We launched a private design competition which yielded 3 quality candidates, from which the new design was selected. The design concept holds some significance, with the two vertical bars representing the Tags, with two arcs connected to the top and bottom forming the ball. This is laid on a green back ground with 8 vertical bars representing a team advancing the ball down the field. This is framed by a gold border forming a shield, with the Tag League title placed at the top in a futuristic font. Overall the design is contemporary and embodies the vision of Tag League to be the game of choice for people wanting to play social Rugby League.

1st September 2013 - Tag League Association announces new Bankstown Competition

The Tag League Association today announced plans for a new competition in the Bankstown area of Western Sydney. The competition will be run in Milperra. "We have had many people travel in from the Bankstown area to our hugely successful Fairfield competition. This season we've secured one site, but it's a fantastic site", Helmut Fleig said. With the support of University of Western Sydney, the Tag League Association has secured access to a great playing field at the UWS Bankstown Campus situated at Milperra. The Milperra venue is in the heart of both business and education hubs of Bankstown. "We're really excited that we can finally offer many of our existing teams options closer to home, work or study".  Registration night for the new competitions is on Thursday, 3rd of October at the UWS Bankstwon Campus.  People interested in the new competition are encouraged to attend the registration night or visit http://www.BankstownTagLeague.com.au/ for more information.
